Apple has released iOS 27.2, bringing Siri AI support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish in beta, along with expanded conversation memory for English-language users.

According to TechCrunch, Siri can now recall details from earlier conversations and use information from sources such as Messages attachments, calendar attendees, voicemails, Safari history and reading lists. Users can choose which apps Siri is allowed to use for its memories.

The update also adds context-aware suggestions in Messages. When a conversation includes details such as an event date, the system can suggest adding it to Calendar or Reminders.

New features for iPhone Duo and FaceTime

For Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo, iOS 27.2 adds Apple Pencil support in apps including Notes and Preview. An Edge Light effect can illuminate a user’s face during video calls.

FaceTime now supports Dual Capture for group calls, allowing the front and rear cameras to be used simultaneously. Apple is also adding support for a third-party sign-language interpreter or live captioner during calls.

Other changes include user profiles in the Apple TV app, a redesigned Podcasts “Up Next” view, and Multiview for watching as many as four supported live sports feeds at once through Apple TV.

Security fixes and an older-version patch

Apple’s release documentation lists more than 160 security fixes in iOS 27.2, TechCrunch reported. Many of those fixes were also backported to iOS 26.

Apple additionally issued a fix for iOS 18 for a vulnerability it said may have been exploited in an “extremely sophisticated attack” against specific targeted individuals using older iOS versions. The company did not identify the attackers or provide further details about the incidents.

The breadth of the security update makes iOS 27.2 relevant beyond its visible Siri and communication features, particularly for users who have not yet moved to iOS 27.
