A Kyiv startup has developed a pocket-sized receiver that lets Ukrainian troops watch the video feeds of Russian drones, TechCrunch reports.

The device weighs 10 ounces, according to the report. By accessing the cameras used by opposing drones, Ukrainian forces may gain visibility into how those systems are being used without relying solely on conventional battlefield observation.

A technology race in the air

TechCrunch notes that the advantage could be temporary. Russian forces are moving toward digital video systems, while some AI-guided drones may operate without emitting signals that the receiver can detect.

That shift could make it harder to intercept drone feeds and reduce the device’s effectiveness as drone technology evolves. The report does not provide additional technical details about the receiver or the startup behind it.
